Right before i began this blog with WordPress, (which has become a very interesting hobby for me, both reading and writing) I had it in my mind that my blog would be candid, real and honest.
I don’t pretend to be who I am not. I’m here, actually pretty vulnerable considering how many people read blogs, to learn from others as well as to also impart a bit of wisdom in the form of experience.
having said that, I struggled with this post also because it really doesn’t fit in anywhere with my belief system other than to say it is there, and not in a good way. it is a 2 part thing, both subjects relate to one another in a way.

Subject 1) We’ve just been “deposited” as a family (thanks to hubby being stationed in the military here) in a very historical area with most of the buildings from the 1800’s intact and a lot of them being used still today. Which I find highly fascinating. I love history. That’s not the problem.
The problem is, that the area is haunted. I know “she sounds goofy”. But my belief in ghosts is there, and I don’t believe that’s something I need to go around investigating if you will. There is even an online site that deals with the hauntings and the houses on post.
Coupled with this is, my daughter’s sudden interest (thanks to the show TAPS) in ghost hunting. I pretty much told her outright. You don’t go messing with this kind of crap. I don’t think it will lead to anything good and I’m pretty sure God wouldn’t approve. Well, no matter what your feelings would be dear reading public, these are mine:
My only experience with ghosts was in New Jersy at Fort Dix. The base housing was not that old but in our living quarters when my son was 2 years old there were some pretty freaky things going on!
As a single parent, my son and I shared one house wall with my neighbor who was a single father to two little girls. Everyday, (usually morning,) I heard scratching noises that would start at the wall at the bottom of the stairs and go up and down, rather loudly. I thought his girls were on his steps playing on the other side of my wall, so I told him. His response was, “I thought your little boy was doing the same thing!”
So we called in maintenance who went into the attics and hunted for rats or birds or mice or squirrels. None found.
Also, one day when I asked to use the neighbor’s phone, he was on his way out and he just told me: “just lock the door when you’re finished” Well before I even got to dial, I picked up the phone and heard no dial tone. Clicking the handset several times, I still couldn’t get a dial tone but heard in the receiver a television in the background.
I hung up the phone. I waited. The phone rang.
Again, no noise just the television heard in the background. I said, “hello???” several times.
Nothing.
Just then, I also realized that I heard noise from a television (same words, sounds) in the house. I stretched the phone cord over to the stairs and listened and looked up. The same television noise was coming from the upstairs. I compared the noises, over and over.
Stairs. Phone.
Stairs Phone.
At this point I felt really creepy and like there is someone in this house besides me. I hung up the phone and got out of there. The next day, I asked my friend:
“Did you leave your T.V on last night?”
He says: “No why?”
I said “because I heard your t.v. on upstairs.”
He said, ” I have a t.v. upstairs but we never use it anymore, it’s in the closet” We went on upstairs to his bedroom where indeed, a t.v. sat in the closet with the cord wrapped three times around it.
Later on, when my son had gone to another state to see his dad, I was moving from my living quarters back into the barracks.
I received a late night call at 11 PM from my neighbor on the other side of my living quarters, the one who shared a wall with my living room and upstairs bedrooms. She was upset.
“I heard furniture moving around in your bedroom!” she told me.
Weird. I told her to call the military police if she heard it again. I sure wasn’t going back over there, especially at 11 p.m.
Now, I said all this to say. i don’t have any issues with NOT getting into studying the area that we live in here anymore. I’m new here. It is surely unnerving enough to be here in this VERY old and historical place. A military post where there is thousands upon thousands of graves in a national cemetary. A place where the current day officers live in military quarters built in the 1800’s. The whole area gives off an air of oppressiveness already. In my eyes, ghosts involve fear. Fear is not of God. Anything that is not of God is not good for me.
I would invite your input on this, if you have any .

Subject 2) This deals about some dreams and strong feelings that I have had here and there for years on and off. I have always had vivid dreams but i will give you some examples. These are dreams that are so vivid that they involve every sense in me except the sense of smell. The strong feelings that i have when i am awake are like flashes of a scene in my head and then they are gone. I also get strong ”feelings” around people who I meet, whether good or bad, the feeling comes in like a flood. I am sure that if someone out there is dreaming or feeling like this, you get used to it but you also feel extremely uncomfortable.
a) I had a dream in which one of my neighbors dies. I am in the dream talking to the wife about the death of the man. The next day, I see the guy who is my neighbor, dressed all in black. I am curious why. He tells me his aunt died and he had just been to the funeral.
b) I had a dream in which my sister in law were arguing and fighting. When i went on a vacation in which we visited family, arguments DID in fact take place, which was the first time we ever argued in 13 years since I have been married to her brother.
c) I had a very strong feeling that a friend that I was staying with had a family member had a gun and was going to shoot it. In the middle of the night, a very loud bang coming from the outside, woke every one up. Since this was Los Angeles, every body in the house hit the floor. The sound had come from a party 2 houses down.
D) I had a roommate that moved out and sent her father and another stranger over to the apartment to pick up her things and return her key. When the men came in, the feeling of evil that I felt in the room was so horrible i could barely keep contained. Staying with me was a small dog, that began to bark furiously at them, and this dog had NEVER behaved this way toward anyone that I knew of. On their way out, the man who accompanied my roommate’s father, turned around and said, “I’ll shoot that damn dog”
These are only a few examples. Not every dream I have comes true. They sometimes are close but off in some way.
I had one dream that was black and white up until a certain portion of it. In the dream, my older brother(he is older by 2 years) and I and my father walk through a door (remember, black and white now) suddenly we’re in color now. In the 60’s I am 2 and my brother is 4 and we walk into a hospital room where my mother is showing off my younger brother, an infant to us. (he was born 2 years after me) It was as real as if I just lived it.
Lately I have been dreaming of some rather violent dreams. Shootings, blood, danger, chases in dark alleys, trying to elude dangerous people. I had a dream in which a man shot himself in the head in front of me and his blood got on my clothes. It was all so vivid and weird.
I also drempt once of my older child and I giving birth at the same time. She is 19 and I am 43. When I told her about it she laughed and said: “Mom, that’s so ghetto” I hate to say it but that IS one dream that I hope doesn’t come true. lol

Things cool people say.....
