Barbeque Stain Payback

Hanging curtains sucks.  Well golly we’ve only been in the new house 3 weeks, ya think i would’ve hung them already.

  But they needed washing. 

 Like they were 120 dollar curtains said dry clean only and I stuffed them in the washer under delicate cycle and voila! 

 

I now know this is a scam put forth by the curtain and clothing manufacturers,  *Dry Clean only* tags!  Bull crap.  The things looked almost new when I was done. 

 Almost. 

 There was one little tell tale stain I don’t think will ever stop bugging me.  It happened when i got the curtains.  I hung them in our dining room.

  Quite proudly,(maybe stupidly) I hung them there, forgetting that foolishness that lurks in every kid at some point in their lives, waiting to bubble over.

  One of my kids(who may or may not have been on crack, because that’s the only line of thinking I could see that would’ve precipitated this) 

folded a barbeque sauce packet in half on purpose, then slammed it onto the table,squirting the over pressurized packet directly at my curtains.

  I have to admit, I cried.

  then I commenced to cleaning the cream colored silky 120 dollar curtains like a mad woman, with a washcloth and warm water.

 

 The stain is still there. 

Doug made fun of me for crying over curtains. 

 Kid sent to room.  No big deal. 

That was 3 or 4 years ago.

  The stain mocks me like a bad recurring dream.

  Even as i hung the curtains today, I noted the small stain was lighter, practically unnoticeable and hidden if I fixed the curtains right. 

Still, I can’t wait til my kids have kids and their kids squirt something on their brand new curtains. 

 Payback is a stain that mocks you, my children.
