I know…I know… but you can’t turn away, you already clicked here! Haha. I think you will like these. In case you ever want to go on vacation here, and i know you WILL. it is a very inexpensive way to learn of the local history. It is relaxing, and beautiful and these are only a fraction of what you’ll find on the riverwalk. Charity and I had a great time. I made her do the tourist thing even though she lives very near here, she confesses, she has never done this river boat thing. Shame on her, huh?
*this guy knew everything about the surrounding area. It’s not just all restaurants, above us and all around, stood the whole history of the city. He was funny and knowledgeable and after giving his long facts, he said, “and this is YOUR american history, enjoy it, it’s YOURS” I love that statement. Thanks Alfredo!

*there are lots of boats. for aboout 8 bucks you can take the ride, and hear all this great stuff about the area, and relax. Despite the picture, it is a mostly shady ride. Everytime you see colored umbrellas is a restaurant or pub. and there are TONS of them!

*The pride of Barbados. A beautiful flower. Alfredo said that the city spends a LOT of money planting these by the river. Thank you city! They are gorgeous aren’t they?

*sno cones seem to be all the rage here. as there are soooo many stands everywhere.

*after the ride, Charity and I ate at Casa del rio . we had these chips and authentic Salsa, which I couldn’t eat much of, it was so spicy, but if you like spicy you should definitely eat them!
Charity tells me, the way that the Mexicans eat this, is 1) squeeze lime juice on one, then 2) put margarine on them (??? I know. that’s what I said) and then scoop some salsa on them
She said, you will find little packets of margarine on every table for this reason (see far left hand side in picture) I ate it how she wanted me too and it IS very good.

*your classic plate lunch: carne asada, tamale, rice and beans,

*we did not eat outside because of the heat. But there were two other, and possibly more, reasons, we did not eat outside! These two jokers swooped down to enjoy the leftovers on someone’s plate before the bus boy could take the plates away. It was so comical, I just had to take a picture! AND THE LETTUCE FLEW in all directions. Very funny. lolololol

Everything looks great and you sound like you’re having a great time with your daughter. Where are you? I haven’t seen a reference to where you actually are.
Pigeons are Foul! hee hee!
I love all of these. Next year when I hopefully go back to Austin, you have now convinced me that I should stop in San Antonio. How long was the boat ride?
it’s a beautiful place! The boat ride is approxiimately 30 minutes, and very relaxing, even if it’s hot outside, there’s a lot of shady places on the river.
